A new Metropolitan Strategy is being developed for Sydney that will provide a framework for housing, employment, transport, infrastructure, the environment and open space over the course of the next twenty years.

The NSW Government’s has released a discussion paper to start the public consultation process; Sydney Over the Next 20 Years, and a draft strategy will follow in mid 2012.

The NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure is now in the process of consulting with communities, residents, businesses, workers, government and industry about what people want for the future of Sydney.

In response to the current Metropolitan Strategy, SHOROC released Shaping Our Future as the overarching integrated strategy for the SHOROC region – encompassing Manly, Mosman, Warringah and Pittwater councils. It includes regional transport and health infrastructure priorities for our region which are the basis of a Mayor-led campaign for the investment our region needs for better public transport, roads and health services now and for the future.

Residents in the SHOROC region have an opportunity to talk directly to a NSW Government planner to share your ideas on the Discussion Paper and share your vision for our local area in the context of greater Sydney.

Warringah public drop-in session is being held:
