SHOROC has provided a submission to the NSW Government on its recently released discussion paper ‘Health Reform in NSW – a discussion paper on implementing the Federal Government’s A National Health and Hospitals Network for Australia’s Future‘.

SHOROC’s submission was developed as Health is a major issue for our region, with lack of access to an appropriate and accessible high quality health service detailed as one of the critical issues for our region now, and one to be compounded with population growth and an ageing population in years ahead, in SHOROC’s draft regional strategy Shaping Our Future.

The submission focuses on the boundaries for proposed Local Health Networks (LHNs), Governance and the need for local government representation on the LHNs, and the critical priority for investment in the health services of our region.
