A new group has been set up by dedicated locals from Sydney’s Northern Beaches seeking to get the new Northern Beaches Hospital built – and they’ve set up a petition so you can have your voice heard.
The call to action is consistent with SHOROC’s Shaping Our Future strategy – to build the Northen Beaches Hosiptal and retain Mona Vale Hospital.
According to their website, PUSH stands for Peninsula United to Secure Hospital and they are apolitical and made up from stakeholders from all areas of the community, clinicians, business people, politicians and community groups.
PUSH are a dedicated group of Sydney’s Northern Beaches locals who are determined to see that our area is given a fair go with health care in the future.
PUSH’s position is as follows:
”PUSH was formed out of the collective community concern over the deteriorating state of our health care facilities and the need for a new Level 5 Hospital. Both our local hospitals at Mona Vale and Manly are in a diabolical state and people’s lives have been, and will be, put at risk if this situation continues.
The building of a modern facility for the peninsula should not come at the expense of Mona Vale and Manly. Both these facilities must have a long term role to play in providing localised health services.
Over the coming weeks PUSH members will be out and about gathering signatures for a petition we plan to present to the NSW Parliament early in the new year. A facility for signing the petition is also available in the main menu on this web site and we ask that you give your support by signing the document.
Please take up this cause and show our parliament that we will settle for nothing less than immediate action to build a new hospital and bring the Peninsula up to the standard of health care enjoyed in comparable communities throughout New South Wales.”
