Tips for taking the fear out of using social media for small business marketing.
Are you afraid of social media? Are you concerned about how it can impact on your business’s privacy? Do you want to know how to securely use social media to grow your business?
Pittwater Business Limited is hosting a breakfast seminar with social media consultant and cyber safety expert Leonie Smith as guest speaker on Wednesday 17 October.
Leonie will show you how you and your employees can jump on the internet marketing bandwagon and use social media to market your business – safely.
According to the US Consumer Reports Organisation Survey released on May 3, 2012, nearly 13 million users said they had never set, or didn’t know about, Facebook’s privacy tools. And 28 percent shared all, or almost all, of their wall posts with an audience wider than just their friends.
“Posting anything online is never really private,” says Shayna Price, Chairperson, Pittwater Business Limited. “Leonie’s presentation will educate those who are novices when it comes to social media about how to begin their internet marketing journey; it will also show seasoned bloggers and social media users how to protect their privacy and ensure their message is going to their specific target audience.”
Australian businesses are renowned as early adopters of technology and social media is their newest and coolest marketing vehicle. In most cases, it is the employees of organisations who are charged with getting the sales or marketing message out to their target audience via Twitter or Facebook or LinkedIn or Pinterest – or all of them. The challenge for small business owners is to manage that knowledge safely and ensure the company’s reputation is kept intact.
Leonie Smith, also known as ‘The Cyber Safety Lady’ has had 15 years of experience in online marketing and social media. Through her company, Digital Breezes, a social media consulting and training business, she helps SMEs to set up and learn how to market their businesses online. She also is the author of the ebook, Keeping our Kids Safe Online.
