Ben Taylor Executive Director
As Executive Director, Ben is responsible for managing SHOROC and working in partnership with the elected Councillors, General Managers and professional Officers from our four partner councils to deliver results for the region and councils. Prior to joining SHOROC, Ben was Director Metropolitan Water for the NSW Government where he was responsible among other things for the Metropolitan Water Plan for greater Sydney, and worked local government and the non-government sector running sustainability programs across Australia and supporting programs in India and East Timor. A proud local resident and keen surfer, Ben is passionate about the Northern Beaches particularly improving our public transport, roads and hospitals.
Gary Bigg Business Manager
As Business Manager, Gary is focused on working collaboratively with our partner councils to deliver efficiencies and cost savings across the region. He is interested in finding strategies that will see us work smarter, get the most out of our resources and deliver best value to our region while maintaining the independence of our partner councils into the long term. Gary has a background in Defence, most recently in business improvement and efficiency program roles. With qualifications in change management and business administration, he brings a passion for innovative reform that will benefit the SHOROC councils.
Jacqui Fishpool Communications and Office Manager
As Communications and Office Manager, Jacqui is responsible for keeping others up to date about SHOROC priorities, working with the team and councils to develop regional communication campaigns and helping with projects supporting businesses and residents in the SHOROC region. Jacqui’s background is in communications for both local and state government bodies as well as the not for profit sector. As a long term Northern Beaches resident, Jacqui has strong links and a keen interest in working with the community to achieve better outcomes for the area.
