RTA Mona Vale Road Collaborative Community Mapping
The RTA is asking commuters who use Mona Vale Rd for their thoughts on the planned upgrade for the major thoroughfare as part of its preliminary investigations towards a long awaited upgrade to Mona Vale Road to help ease traffic congestion, accidents and commuter frustration.
An interactive website has now been created to allow the community to assist in the planning process by proving feedback on issues including the importance of the project, the safety of wildlife along the corridor, pedestrian and cyclist connectivity and public transport interplay.
The SHOROC councils have long been calling for this major road upgrade and Shaping Our Future, the strategic vision for the region, outlines the area’s dire need for road improvements including upgrading Mona Vale Road to a dual-lane carriageway, as well as upgrading Wakehurst Parkway and the Warringah Road intersections with Wakehurst Parkway and Forrest Way.
Local residents who have also been highlighting the plight of this notorious road for many years now have the opportuntiy to have their say and be listened to.
Work has already begun on environmental assessments, ground surveys and feasibility designs – now it’s up to the community to assist in this important planning stage.
Feedback is being sought before 16 December 2011 on a range of issues – with an interactive webpage making the process simple and straightforward.
There are three ways the community can get involved and provide feedback:

- Another way the community can provide feedback, is via the RTA’s collaborative mapping webiste
