Warringah Council is keen to hear the ideas of the community around planning for the future vision for Dee Why Town Centre.
An online forum has been established by the council so that people can discuss what is important to them about Dee Why and the issues and solutions for the Centre, as a preliminary part of the preparation of a concept plan for the Dee Why Town Centre. The forum is called yoursaywarringah.com/deewhytowncentre and Warringah Council is now inviting you to participate.
On the site there is a wealth of information on the study area, the town centre vision and councils associated planning documents along with FAQ’s and the discussion forum. The study area focuses on the centre of Dee Why including commercial, civic and residential areas. This is an opportunity to have early input into planning for the Dee Why Town Centre, and you are invited to visit yoursaywarringah.com.au/deewhytowncentre to have your say.
Under the NSW Government’s Metropolitan Plan for Sydney 2036, Brookvale-Dee Why will remain the ‘Major Centre’ for Manly, Warringah and Pittwater (the North East subregion), with a focus on mixed development for Dee Why.
The target for employment capacity for Brookvale-Dee Why is an additional 5,000 jobs by 2036, and in terms of housing, the State Government is intending that at least 80 per cent of new homes are located within the walking catchments of centres with good public transport.
Further information on the NSW Government’s Metropolitan Plan is available here
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved and have an early input into planning for the Dee Why Town Centre, so please visit yoursaywarringah.com.au/deewhytowncentre and have your say.
